Pet Emergency Care

In any emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff can handle your emergency needs during our regular office hours and are trained in CPR and life support techniques. If you feel that your pet is experiencing a life threatening emergency, please proceed directly to one of the after hour emegency services that we recommend: MedVet, The Ohio State Emergency Service or Capital Veterinary Referral and Emergency Service.

Emergencies may include:

  • Pain in movement
  • Weakness or collapse
  • Problems breathing
  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Difficulty walking
  • Gagging or vomiting
  • Allergic reactions or swelling
  • Inability to urinate
  • Ingestion of poisonous or foreign objects
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Unexplained fever

When our veterinarians are not available, emergency services can be provided by three local emergency hospitals. These facilities are equipped to handle 24-hour emergency care needs.
